The 6th Annual Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals has been postponed until August 12-13-14, 2021.

May 22, 2020

From Chris Sondles, President of the American Tri-Five Association

Friends, it is with great sadness that the 6th Annual Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals is being postponed until 2021 due to the ongoing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.  This decision was based on guidance from city, county and state officials concerning the health and well being of each of our participants, spectators, vendors, staff and sponsors as well as the residents of Bowling Green, Kentucky.  While this may not be a popular decision, it is the right decision.

The Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals has become the largest gathering of 1955-1957 Chevrolets in the world and has drawn people from all 50 states and many foreign countries each year since founded in 2015.  I cannot in words describe how much we will miss seeing all of you this year.  We will miss the thousands who crowd the hotel parking lots before the event and party each night, we will miss the early morning procession of the endless stream of Tri-Fives into Beech Bend, we will miss the noise and smell of the dragstrip, but most of all we will miss you: the thousands who descend on central Kentucky each year to celebrate the greatest American cars and trucks ever produced.

These are interesting and scary times, and we wish that we could awaken from this nightmare, but we know that we are already awake and dealing with this the same as you, your family and your neighbors.  We know over 185 countries across the globe are trying to manage this and get life back to normal, but this is going to take time, and it is going to take each and everyone of us to do so.

All participant, racer, commercial vendor and swap meet vendor pre-registrations will automatically roll over to the 2021 event which is scheduled for August 12-14, 2021.  If you are already registered, you do not need to do anything, you will receive your confirmation for next year in the weeks to come.  We ask for your patience and understanding as this is uncharted territory for all of us.  We hope that by announcing now it allows for plenty of time to adjust your travel arrangements accordingly.

We know this is sad news for many as it is for us, but it is the right thing to do currently.  We, as a society, need to hit the pause button as much as we can this year in hopes that when it is once again safe to congregate in large groups, we can hit the play button.  Let’s all hug our families, be mindful of ourselves and take this year off to work on our classic Chevys at home.  We will all get together soon.
