Shop Spotlight : Orange County Hotrods

Aaron helped us out tremendously with the recent refresh of our ’57 Chevy 2-Door Hardtop.  In fact he went so far as to do a frame off restoration for us…

So we wanted to tell you about him and his shop.

Shop Spotlight….Orange County Hotrods

Orange County Hot Rods Logo

Orange County Hot Rods, in Corona, California is a family run full service restoration shop owned by Aaron Hamusek, a long time friend of Danchuk.  Aaron has owned and has been working on Tri-Five Chevy’s since he was in High School and if you ask him he will tell you that they are his passion.

Aaron came to work for Danchuk in the late 80’s and in the 14 years he was there he mastered our Customer Service Department before moving over to our R&D facility where he did new part development, reworking of existing parts that needed to be improved, reworking vendor parts that weren’t quite up to scratch and fabrication.  He also headed up Dan Danchuk’s personal restoration shop for many years and was instrumental in the restoration of several cars in Dan Danchuk’s personal collection.  Aaron restored, with Rich Evans at Huntington Beach Body Works, Danchuk’s Turquoise and ivory 56 convertible and was in the process of building our 1957 2-door hardtop (of this article) when he left to go on his own, his lifelong dream.

But always, on the side, Aaron worked on Tri-Fives for customers building a reputation in the So Cal Tri-Five scene as the go to guy for anything you needed done to a Shoebox. Aaron has spent 30 years honing his craft and in 2006 he decided the time had come to realize his ultimate dream. To own a shop that specialized in Tri-Five Chevy’s.   Orange County Hot Rods was born.

Orange County Hot Rods is a full service facility.  They will do full restorations, rewire your car, install fuel injection, bag your vehicle, fix the little things wrong with your ride…and everything in between.  They also specialize in fabrication and welding.  If it can be made…they can make it.  They concentrate on Chevrolet cars and trucks…but if you have a project…this is the place to go. (They are working on a 49 Merc along with some other things at the moment and you should see the Margarita Truck or the Pro Street School Bus they built). You can see tons of Aaron’s work if you visit the Orange County Hotrods Facebook Page.
